Why Chose an Aqua Brand Polyester Sponge
The Aqua brand sponge has become the choice of professionals and do-it-yourselfers for masonry, drywall, wall papering, tile and grout work, painting and general cleanup, and more. This honeycomb polyester blend offers maximum water retention for transferring water and a soft texture for wiping applications. The honeycombed polyester of the Aqua Sponge also makes it solvent resistant and durable for repeated use and unparalleled value.
These professional grade sponges are made from polyester foam, making them elastic, light, durable, economical and more chemically resistant compared to other types of sponges. They are extremely soft, wet or dry, and come in a variety of shapes and sizes for different types of jobs. The super-absorbent honeycomb structure of these hydrophilated polyester sponges not only make them an ideal choice for masonry, wallpapering and drywall applications, seams and washing walls, and general cleaning, but also for all general home, auto and marine applications and cleaning.
What is a Polyester Sponge?
Invented in 1937 by Otto Bayer, polyester foam (affectionately called “Ester”) is a dense foam originally adopted by the mop industry, which needed a cost effective, absorbent, strong, durable, material that was resistant to harsher cleaning chemicals, oil, and grease. The airy foam, which is similar in structure to natural sea sponges, was also made into utility and kitchen sponges soon after its discovery.
